Magellanic Cloud Shares Decline Nearly 9% Despite Subsidiary Winning ₹6 Crore Railway Contract

Mumbai, November 25, 2025: The share price of Magellanic Cloud Limited declined in early deals on Tuesday, despite the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Provigil Surveillance Limited, winning a ₹6 crore contract to supply and install Crew Voice & Video Recording Systems on electric locomotives. As of 12:13 PM IST, the stock was trading at ₹47.38, down 8.25% from its previous close of ₹51.64.
Magellanic Cloud Ltd offers IT and digital transformation services along with specialized surveillance/safety technology solutions via its subsidiary named Provigil Surveillance Ltd. The Company has been able to establish its position in public infrastructure monitoring (via technology), thereby establishing itself as a key player in the rapidly increasing technology-driven safety solution marketplace in India.
Early Market Snapshot
The stock opened on a strong note and climbed 4.76% in the early session, touching the day’s high of ₹55.52. Its price has shown noticeable volatility in recent months, with sharp movements and a generally negative tone. However, strong buy-side interest—reflected in higher buy quantities than sell orders—signals fresh accumulation. Trading volumes were healthy at 2.60 lakh shares. Despite the current uptrend, the stock remains well below its 52-week high of ₹105.42, though it continues to trade above its 52-week low of ₹42.49.
Details of the Order
The order involved deploying Provigil’s CWVRS (Carrier-Wayside Virtual Reality Systems) across the entire East Coast Rail Network. The system is intended to enhance safety for locomotive crews and reduce the time needed for crew monitoring and for investigating potential crew infractions.
The management team has stated that this win demonstrates the continuing enhancement of Provigil’s expertise in providing technologically advanced safety-critical solutions for railways. There is a three-year contract for the completion of this project.
